From long journeys in search of water to having it now closer to home, Monica Nkaiduri shares how the Ngabolo Sand Dam has changed daily life. Together with the Naningoe Women Group, they came together, built a sand dam in their neighbourhood, and today water is within reach.

She encourages other women to get involved, having seen firsthand the benefits that come from working together to build sand dams. While appreciating the support and capacity building from LPCT, she notes that more sand dams are still needed to reach neighbouring communities still facing water challenges.

The Humans of Nature documentary speaks of “Oltoilo Obo Loontomonok,” the One Voice of Women. This episode describes the challenges Maasai women face in Laikipia County, Kenya: their day-to-day activities, their care for the farm, the children, and each other. They are moving towards regenerative farming practices to return the original habitat to the land, making it lush and prosperous again.
